Kukeri
A sculpture inspired by the Bulgarian tradition of the Kukeri - ancient masked rituals meant to chase away evil spirits and welcome the spring. The artwork depicts three Kuker faces, each with its own bell, carved from naturally colored marble sourced from the Ognyanovo, Pazardzhik, quarry. Set on a rotating base, the sculpture reveals every side of the festive masks, complemented by polished sea stones symbolizing purification and renewal. The piece captures the spirit of the celebration and the artist’s childhood memories, transformed into timeless stone.
